Well it sounds like you all had a good week this week. Mom and dad getting to tend the kids, and tyler and meg making a shoutout to me from florida. And Tasha and Ryan up at jackson just x-country skiing away. Well this week was a great week for me too it was the last week of this transfer, and we recieved transfer calls last night. Me and my new comp are going to new area that used to just be a 2 man area and now it is going to be a 4 man area. So both of us are going to be new there, they call it being whitewashed, so I am pretty excited about that. His name is Elder Brezak and I hear he is pretty cool. We are going to Enriquillo de San Geronimo, So I am excited to go and see this new area. But I am also sad to leave Bayona, because bayona really is a sweet area. This saturday we have a baptism coming up and this next transfer we have 2 more people that will most likely be baptized here and the ward here is so cool. So I am going to have elder king take lots of pictures at Anita´s baptism and then send them to me. And at the other baptism´s too. So today I am basically just packing up all my stuff and getting ready for transfers tomorrow, getting ready to see the new area and the new comp. And I have been going around saying bye to people here and taking pictures and stuff. So thats what is happening  to me these days. Well I hope everything is going good at home, just know that missionary work is awesome, and that this is the true gospel of jesus christ in the world, and that it truely changes life because I keep seeing it change people´s lifes down here for the better. Im just greatful to be a part of that. Love you all.

Well from the pictures it looks like it finally snowed back home, and that is crazy about all the flooding that is going on in the valley right now. Congrats heather on getting into the nursing program thats awesome. Well this week has been a good week. We kind of had a minor set back on saturday with Francisco. All week we made visits and he was ready for his baptism and he was really excited for it. But then saturday morning he had his baptismal interview and he didn´t show up. So we went and found him and we found out that that night his wife had told him how she doesn´t want him to get baptized, so thats why he didn´t show up. So we tried talking to her too ask her, her concerns but she didn´t open up she just said that she didn´t want him to get baptized. So we are going to try to share with her, and see if she will change her mind about the baptism. I hope she does because Francisco really is such a good guy and I want him to have the oportunity to be baptized and be on the path that leads to eternal life. So for now we are just postponing the baptism for a little bit. But we have another baptism not this saturday but the next with a lady named Anita and we are really excited about her baptism too she has such a strong testimony of this stuff already, which is really cool to see. However, I might not be her for her baptism because we have transfers next week but we will see. Also, we have found a couple new families here that are really cool, and are really interested in the message. So yeah the work is still going forth well here in Bayona. Also this friday we are doing a fireside for the ward, me and the other missionaries here and we are going to have a fireside about the atonement. We are going to have an acivity and then we are going to have to bishop give the final talk so we are pretty excited for that too. Anyways, I hope everything is going well at home and that you all are enjoying the snow.

 Mcdonald’s definitely exciting
 scrub font before every baptism
Jan 1 2012 from apt. rooftop

Well it sounds like everything is going really well back at home. The trip down to st. george, and going hiking sounds really fun. And also the jazz vs the nets that sounds awesome too. Its too bad the broncos got killed by the patriots, but for them to get to the playoffs and win is way good compared to last year. I kind of expected the aggies to not be as good this year because so many seniors left last year but my boy stew will get them into to shape. Anyways, everything down here is going really well. I had one of the best sundays of my mission yesterday. Sundays are basically the day when you see if your work is paying off. Because you can teach a lot of people down here and we try to commit most everybody to come to church each sunday. So we invite them to come and then on sunday morning we see who shows up. This sunday we had 6 progressing investigaders in church, which is really good and then we got a inactive lady to come back to church and then we shared with a whole family that hasn´t gone to church in over a year. we asked this family what was stopping them from going to church. And one of their biggest concerns was that the members would be asking questions like, Where have you been? and why havent you been coming to church? And we told them that that stuff might happen but that it would be more important for them to come back to church and take the sacarament and renew their covenants with the lord. And on saturday night they commited to come to church. And then on sunday the mom dad and all three kids were all dressed in their church clothes and were at church. And after sacarament metting the members basically mobbed them. Ive never seen anybody receive as many hugs as they did. Everybody was so happy that they came back to church because they really are such a cool family. And it was so cool to know that their biggest concern was that the members wouldn´t accept them to come back, but then the members did just what christ would do and they received them with open arms. It showed true christlike charity, and i was grateful that i got to witness that. Also this saturday Francisco is getting baptized he is this cool 65 year old man with the biggest heart that i have seen down here in the DR. We are super stoked for his baptism. And we have a lot of investigadors right now that are really close to getting baptized, most of them just have to get married first but we are working on that right now. But I hope everything keeps going well at home, and that you guys finally get some snow some time. I think the lord is saving up the snow for these two winters and then he is going to let it dump when i get back, just saying! HA anyways i love you all

Well first off happy birthday mom! I hope you had a good day, also I hope everything is going well back at home and that you guys are enjoying the snow if there is any yet. Well this week has been really good. We are teaching this older guy he is probably close to 65 but he has been reading everything, and has came to church 3 weeks in a row. He is such a happy guy and wants to follow the lord so bad. We have tried to share with his wife too but she says that she was born catholic and she is going to die catholic. we are still trying to share with her. But he is probably going to be baptized next saturday, and it is really cool because he has a lot of friends in the ward already so that makes it really nice. We also are still teaching Roxana the peruvian lady and her daughter and they are still reading everything we just need to get them to church. We also have been focusing a lot on inactive people because we got a list from the bishop and there is close to 200 inactive people here in Bayona so we have been visiting them a lot too and it is cool because a couple of them have started to come back to church too. Everything is going really well and I have seen the importance of the book mormon so much more down here as I have been studying it and as I have seen its affect on peoples life. That book really is so true and is from god. But other than that I hope that everything is still going well up there at home and that was a crazy story about david archuleta. We have a david archuleta with mormon tabernacle choir cd down here. And while we were listening to it we wondered if  he was going to go on a mission but that is awesome that he is going and cool that you saw him. Anyways I love you all.

2012

Happy New Years!
Well I have been through my first christmas and new years here in the DR and it is crazy here. People party through all the night on the streets and we always have to be into our apartment early on these days. New Years eve people had a big party right outside our apartment on the street and they started there music at like 3 pm and when we left for church at 9 in the morning they still had there music going and were still partying, so it was pretty hard to sleep with how loud it was that night but other than that it was alright. When we got back from church they were starting to shut the party down, so all went well. Also this week was a good week we have been teaching a lot people that are really interested in the gospel and to hear the message of it. right now we are teaching like 4 people that all need to get married and that is like the only thing that is holding them back so we have been working at that. We are teaching this one peruvian lady and her boyfriend and they read everything that we leave them and have questions written down for everytime we visit them, and they are really learning so much, and have lots of excitment for the the gospel so it is really cool to see. Yesterday, in church the stake president talked in our ward and he talked about the importance of a prophet. and the 13 points of the prophet. One of the points is that a living prophet is more important than a dead prophet because he leads and guides us in this day and warns us against the dangers in these days. and the talk was so awesome for the people down here because they either think that the bible is the only thing we can go from or that we are all prophets. And the talked showed me of the importance of reading the liahona and the general conference addresses because then we can read the prophets and apostles words. Anyways i hope all is going well this new year and I love you all.
