Dear Family,

Well it sounds like you guys had quite the week with the snow on monday and then close to 70 degrees by saturday, but i bet that feels pretty good. Well here i dont know if it is heating up or if it is getting more humid because we are sweating like pigs the whole day long. We carry handkerchiefs around everywhere to wipe the sweat off of our faces, it is about 90 degrees everyday with crapload of humidity, it is awesome! it rains everysingle day for at least an hour or two now too. So the climate is always changing and i think in a couple months hurrican season starts so i am excited to see what that is all about, last year there were a couple days when the elders had to stay in there houses all day straight because of the hurricanes and all it did was rain all day. And when it rains here it pours, sometimes when it is rains you can´t see the other side of the street it is super cool! lots of little kids go out and take showers while it is raining because it saves water! haha so yeah that is what the climate is like right now. Well, i know you all have been wondering but i told you last week about how we told our investigador Chelo about the sabath day, well it turns out that he came to church yesterday! Church in this ward starts at 8 oclock so he woke up at 630 and got ready and came to church we also have set a date for his baptism and he will be getting baptized the 5 of May and he is super excited about the church right now and is super excited about general conference he cant wait to hear the prophet talk and see what a living prophet is like. I am super excited for general conference too i hope we get to listen in it in english but if not it will be alot better then last time because i will be able to understand it haha. Also Dayana is right on track for her baptism the 14 of April, both her and Chelo are just chosen by the Lord and have been prepared before we started teaching them. So I am super excited for them and seeing the changes that they have been making in their lives to follow the Lord and what he wants them to do. It has been great to be here in Enriquillo and to see the Lord´s hand in the work here. Also, i want to share my testimony of fasting. Every single time i have fasted in the mission I have seen direct results of the fast. For example, we have been teaching Chelo for almost 4 weeks and every sunday he hasn´t been able to go to church so this sunday we fasted that him and our other investigadors could recieve answers to their prayers and that they could attend church. And the same week that we have the fast for him, he came to church and he accepted a date for baptism, he says he still needs to learn a lot more but that he can his feel his testimony growing little by little. So fasting is real, prayer is real and this truely is the work of the Lord. Anyways Meg Happy Stinking Birthday! I hope everything is going great for all of you back home and that you are liking the spring! Go Jazz, lets hope they make the playoffs! and the broncos with Peyton Manning wow! anways I love you all

Dear family,

Well this week went really well. I remember I told you guys about a guy that we are teaching he was the one that read like 5 chapters of the book of mormon when we gave it to him, and he really has a lot of interest. Well we invited him to church last week like we always do and he didnt show. So last night we went and taught him and we taught him about the sabath day and how we need to keep it holy, and we shared with him the sacarament prayers and the real reason why we go to church and it really made me look at the true blessings that come from taking the sacarament each week we testify that we are willing to take upon us the name of Christ and that we will always remember him and keep his commadment, and he promises that when we do that we will always have his spirit with us. It reminded me of how important the sacarament is that every week we can have his spirit with us. We explained to him that after he is baptized he too can recieve the blessings of the sacarament. So we are really hoping that he will come to church this next week, he told us that he is going to come so we will see. Also, Dayana is progressing a lot to and she will be getting baptized in a couple weeks here. Yesterday we recieved a referal of a whole family. The mom is from spain and the dad is from ecaudor and then they have two daughters that are like 17, they have just moved into our area and they came to church yesterday so  we are going to start teaching them too. It is so cool to see the lords hand in all that we do. I know that this is the Lord´s work, that this is his church, and through faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end, is the only way that we can have eternal life and return and live with our father in heaven, his son jesus christ after this life. I love the work and this oportunity to be a missionary and be a small part of bringing the gospel forth to the people here in enriquillo. I love you all and I am thankful for all that you do for me.

Dear Family,
First off happy birthday Dad! Are you 54 or 55 these days? Whatever it is happy stinking birthday! haha I sent you a letter for the birthday but it will probably be there in like 2 or 3 weeks. Also, sounds like st. george is the place to be right now and its good to hear that brad is going to be getting out the good old lawn mowing equipment and is going to take care of the yellow house down there. Well this week has been a really good week. We have transfers this week and me and elder Brezack are staying together here in enriquillo, so we are pretty excited because we have some investigaders that are really progressing. Yesterday we had an appointment with Dayana and we taught her the plan of salvation and the lesson was really spiritual and at the end of the lessons I asked her if she had any questions or comments. And she said I dont have a question but I have a comment. She said, remember how you guys always tell me to pray about the book of mormon and about the church to know if it is true. And we said yes we remember and she said, well I have recieved an answer and I know the book of mormon is true and that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ, and i want to get baptized. And i was thinking wow that is so awesome, that she really did ask with a sincere heart and real intention to know if it was true and she recieved an answer! So we congratulated her and told her that we are here to help her in accomplishing her goal of being baptized. But wow we havent taught her at all the spirit has taught her this whole time and he is byfar alot better teacher than us. So that was something that happened this week that was really cool. Also, Elder chapman and morgan had a baptism on saturday and it was a whole family that was baptized and there was about 50 people at the baptism, it was super cool, and super spiritual. Well everything down here is still going really well, it is starting to get hot and i here its only supposed to get hotter but it sure makes the bucket showers feel a lot better HA anyways i hope everything is going well back home and I love you all.

Cuentas Tus Bediciones

Well family I am glad to hear that you guys finally got some snow in
March! that is pretty stinking cool. That is awesome that you guys got
to go and have a ski trip too, it sounded like it was pretty fun. That
is cool to hear about stephen and another call to mexico city, I am
excited for him... But it is a bummer because he is missing out on the
DR now haha And that is sad/happy to hear about June but now she has
went home and is back in the presence of the savior, so that is
awesome for her. Anyways so I have kept forgotten to say stuff for the
last couple weeks, first off when Bednar came we also learned that
they opened up Cuba to missionary work! That was one big part of what
Elder Bednar is doing down here, but we heard that they are only
sending dominicans, venezuelans and bolivians missionaries, only from
countries that dont have problems with that. So we are thinking that
most all of the kids from here will start getting called to Cuba so
that is really exciting. Maybe they will send a couple of us Gringos
too and see how we fare there haha just messing im pretty sure that
wont happen. But listen for it in general conference they will anounce
it. Anyways, this week has been an awesome week. Well we have been
here in enriquillo for almost 6 weeks knocking doors everyday and
teaching first lessons but we havent had anybody progressing and we
just have kept doing the same thing day in and day out. Well on
saturday we contacted a lot and we had our agendas filled up with
almost 15 first lessons to teach. As we left the house we said a
prayer that we could find someone that would accept the message and
come to the waters of baptism. And I knew that if we had faith the
Lord would do the rest for us. So we went out to work and out of those
15 appointments we taught 1 and everybody else fired us. After that my
faith was a little low, I thought, wow, how are we supposed to find
somebody that will accept the message and be baptized if we cant even
get into their houses. But we kept working, I had forgotten that at
the end of the night we were going with the first counselor in the
bishopric, because he had a referal for us. So we met up with him and
then we went and met his referal. She is about 17 but she has been
going to seminary for a while and has been going to church with her
friends too and we didnt even know. We taught her the first lesson and
the spirit was super strong, so we set a date of baptism with her that
same night! And now she has been reading the book of mormon and she
came to church yesterday and it truely was an answer to our prayers!
It was super awesome, and then we went to one more appointment that we
had planned that night right after that and it was a guy that we
taught the first lesson and he has already read 10 chapters of the
Book of Mormon. So the Lord has really led us to the people who are
prepared. So this week has been awesome and we are going to keep
moving forward with these people too. Anyways, the church is true, the
gospel really has been restored on the earth and it is an awesome
opportunity to be a part of it down here in the DR. Anyways, I love
you all and have a good week.
